A buzz word
that you are hearing more and more of these days is Outsourcing. Many companies today realize that project resources in an ERP
implementation project are, in the scheme of things, short term
needs. For example,
many companies face the question, “What do we do with the project
team after we go live?” This
question is especially difficult to answer when you are near the end
of your final implementation.
While it is
true that successful implementations do require the support of
internal employees and some internal employees will be required to
continually support changes, improvements, and upgrades, the
question still remains: Will
you have the need to support the employees on a full time basis for
the project once the system is implemented?
In most cases,
the answer to that question is, “no”.
Many times, it is more cost effective and efficient to bring
in an external resource for the short term rather than hiring a full
time employee for the project.
If there is an
area of your project where you lack a leader or an employee with the
proper skill set, you may want to consider hiring a consultant to
act in a project management role.
MyConsultant.com,
Inc. can not only supply a project manager, but an entire team to
fill a gap when you decide that you using internal resources is not
a choice that falls in line with the implementation goals.
